Week 3 - Aug 19: Planning the Business and the Site
  • Reading Assignment:
    • Designing Brand Identity, Part 2, Phase 1
    • Electronic Commerce, Chapters 5 & 12 Review Questions
    • Explore the example business plans: http://sba.gov/
    • Review the Business plan tutorial on bplan.com at: e-Business Plan Tutorial
  • KGA #1: Create a business plan using the resources listed above. The business plan needs to contain all elements from the e-Business Plan Tutorial outline. The Business plan can be for your web design business, another company (real or imagined) or the Green Rabbit Art business. Please note that the business plan will take time to complete, required research and is due Week 9. Plan to work on it in stages throughout the semester. This will count as 30% of your grade.

  • KGA #2: Basecamp TO DO List. Present your deliverable to the class on or before the due date in Basecamp. Based on the feedback received, make the necessary changes to your website project assignment and turn in revised deliverable for grading. Present to the client for feedback if needed.

Week 10 - Oct 7: Testing and Web site Optimization

  • Class Project: Write a 1-2 page summary of the project. What was successful about the project? What would you do differently next time? Do you like how the site turned out? Why or why not? Discuss your experience working with the client and your classmates in order to get the site delivered on time and with the required features.
  • KGA #2: Project Assignment: Basecamp TO DO List - Finished client site due.
